Sara is a graduate of both Columbia College (Associate in Science, Business Administration '02; Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Marketing '05) and the University of Missouri-Columbia's Truman School of Public Affairs (Master in Public Affairs, Non-Profit Management and Public Management '09), a past board member of Missouri Right to Life, past 40 Days for Life volunteer, past volunteer receptionist for Open Arms Pregnancy Resource Center in Jefferson City, Joplin Tornado Relief volunteer, past Central Missouri Honor Flight volunteer, past church involvement coordinator for the National Day of Prayer Task Force in Jefferson City, and currently serves as treasurer of Heritage Baptist Church in Columbia where she and her husband participate in various community outreach efforts including the Central Missouri Food Bank, My Life Clinic, and caroling for seniors at Christmas.
Sara's experience in politics includes serving on the executive committee for the Missouri Republican Party, Republican State Committeewoman for the 19th Senatorial District, past Vice Chair of the Boone County Republican Central Committee, past president of Boone County Pachyderm Club, past president of Central Missouri Young Republicans, past treasurer for the Cole County Republican Club, and member of the Boone County Federated Republican Women. In July of 2016, Sara proudly represented Missouri's Fourth Congressional District as a delegate to the RNC Convention in Cleveland.
Sara's prior work experience includes managing website, communications, and social media for the Missouri Pharmacy Association in Jefferson City, serving as a staff auditor with the Missouri State Auditor's office, programs and outreach manager with the National Newspaper Association, legislative assistant at the Missouri State Capitol, administrative assistant / veterans certifying official at Columbia College, quality control inspector with Maytag in Jefferson City, and deli worker at Moser's Discount Foods in Holts Summit.
Sara and her husband Steve reside with their adopted dog, Wish, in Ashland.
